Review of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) by Drake S — 14 Oct 2015
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes surpasses all of my expectations and is even better than its amazing predecessor Rise of the planet of the Apes. Dawn is the perfect summer blockbuster with a great story, intense action, and amazing performances.
Andy Serkis gives an incredible performance as Caesar putting as much heart and character into him as possible. But for every yang there is a yin and in this movie the yin is Koba. Koba is an awesome character and a great villain who steals the show in almost every scene he's in and shows that apes and humans aren't as different as they seem.
Dawn also gives messages about equality, understanding, and working together without forcing the messages down our throats. If your a fan of Planet of the Apes or just a fan of great movies in general than you should definitely see this movie.
