Brimming to the top with sharp social commentary, brilliant performances, especially from Andy Serkis' Ceasar, and extravagantly stage action set pieces, Dawn of The Apes is the most intellectually riveting picture of 2014. Developing it's fine storyline around core characters the audience actually cares about, Apes separates itself from standard blockbuster fare by dividing the line between good and evil and apes vs. humans leaving both good and bad characters on all sides. My favorite summer movie since The Dark Knight.
