Review of Dawn of the Dead (2004) by Dann M — 02 Mar 2012
Zack Snyder's remake of Dawn of the Dead is a thrilling and terrifying horror film. When the zombie apocalypse hits, a group of survivors seek refuge at the local mall and try to holdup and wait for rescue.
The film has a solid cast lead by Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames, who both give excellent performance. The soundtrack and score are especially well done and add a level of energy to the film that helps fuel the action and suspense.
Surprisingly (for a zombie movie) the film refrains from indulging in overly gratuitous gore, but it still retains the horror and terror. Dawn of the Dead is a well-crafted film thatâ(TM)s truly frightening.
