Review of Dawn of the Dead (2004) by Ridge T — 23 Oct 2012
I watched the original and it was my favorite of the Romero movies. When I heard they were remaking it, I was kinda disappointed because now a days, remake's suck. But Zack Snyder was directing and he made some pretty good movies, so I decided to give it a try.
I didn't catch it in theaters but I got the unrated director's cut on dvd. Let me say, this is the best remake I think I've seen.... ever. I was so pleased with this movie but I wasn't as good as the original, that's not saying much though because it almost was better.
So, meet Sarah, a hard working nurse, she's got a good life, good husband, nice house, life is good. Then everything changes and she's thrown into a zombie apocalypse. She flees her once peaceful neighborhood and soon finds other survivors, they take refuge inside a mall with survivors flooding in.
So, life goes back to as normal as it can be, everyone makes friends and then things go sour. They soon have to fight the infected and try to make it somewhere safer. This movie is loaded with blood, zombie killing, babes, good story and acting.
Thank you, Zack Snyder for a good movie and not dragging Dawn of the Dead through the mud like other remakes. So for this movie, I'm giving it a 5/5.
