Review of Dawn of the Dead (2004) by Tommy H — 13 Apr 2015
It fails completely as a horror movie, but succeeds with the excessive violence. The zombie scenes are thrilling because of the action, not the horror. It's closer to Shaun of The Dead than the original Dawn of The Dead.
But the action and the dark humor is really great. It's a fun movie with many memorable and iconic scenes. It also has maybe the best opening in the history of undead cinema.
