This isn't something we asked for, it's unnecessary. The brilliant Christmas specials of The Office gave us a good ending for all the characters, life for David was looking up as he had a potential love interest and had stood up to bully Finchy.

Therefore the great and optimistic conclusion has to be shattered for this film. Whilst there are some very funny segments with that classic Brent awkwardness much of this isn't funny but just nasty to David.

He goes on a tour, paying guys to play with him, paying them to hang out with him and mentions his past with unfunny things such as an eating disorder and nervous breakdown mentioned. The structure is of several gigs but they're not that funny.

The songs are funny, sure check them out but the material surrounding the songs is just padding. Sometimes we want characters to have a happy ending, this removes that from the Office special and the end to this is not nearly as satisfying as the one it tarnished.

Eventually the guys in the band seem to like him, why? I'm not sure it's not mentioned I guess to give a bit of happiness to the end. Here the new bully is confronted just like Finch was and Brent once again may have a potential partner.

Kind of funny, but often not very, watch it once but you probably won't want to do so again for a while. Maybe just give the songs a listen on Youtube. Oh yeah and the awkward laugh gets ridiculously annoying as it's in nearly every scene!!
