Review of David and Lisa (1962) by Private U — 27 Mar 2008
Modern audiences might find this story a bit stodgy and mechanical, but in its context, this is a brilliant little film. A turning point for realism in cinema as well as a story based on a difficult topic, this love story is unique in its sensitive approach to the characters and their disabilities.
Excellent acting, wonderful script, a must see for anyone interested in the realism genre of the 1960s.
