Review of Dave (1993) by Rajneel S — 29 Jul 2008
Taut, well-structured, smartly written and often genuinely funny film that owes some to Frank Capra's "Mr Smith Goes To Washington" and is responsible for birthing a never-ending parade of fish-out-of-water-in-politics clones ever since.
Kevin Cline, Sigorney Weaver and director Ivan Reitman are in good form here and this is an endearing comedy that's more worthy than it sounds. Frank Langella, however, is strangely loose and flat.
