Easily one of THE longest movies I have ever seen, although not necessarily its strong point. Prochnow surpasses the rest of the cast in an amazing performance. Also, the movie introduced the drink Das Boot, a giant boot filled with beer as seen in Beerfest, which also features Prochnow.
