HEAVY WWII drama about the crew and the never ordinary mission of a German U-Boat. Gripping! Moving! Of the three versions (the original theater release, the Director's Cut & the 5 hour mini-series for TV) I recommend the Director's Cut.
If I had to pick this would be my favorite film of all-time. It's so real. A masterpiece of cinematography and a tribute to all who sacrifice so much. ALARM! My only wish now is Das Boot in Blu-Ray format.
