Review of Das Boot (1981) by Andrew R — 25 May 2011
A realistically gritty war movie. This shows the german navy as being real people, not just mindless nazis that were evil. It makes you care for them, and makes you realize they are just as real as the american soldiers, or the Canadians, or the British.
It is something a lot of war movies fail to portray, and for that alone this film deserves ample amount of credit. That and everything else about this film is equally amazing.
