Review of Das Boot (1981) by Robert C — 19 May 2012
I am a historian of WWII, the Cold War and the Space Race. If you want to know what it was like to be a submariner on a German U-Boat during WWII you can't do any better than to watch this brilliant Wolfgang Petersen masterpiece.
I prefer the longer Director's Cut versus the Theatrical Version. After watching this movie I came to the conclusion that I would never want to serve aboard an U-Boat during wartime. This is a 'must have' for any DVD collection about WWII.
