A truely great action war film that's grand and minimalist at the same time. Seems like a very true picture of submarine life. Brimming with suspense - even after 3h20m, I did not want it to be over.
Almost - almost - as impressive as another epic 3+ hour film I recently saw: Lawrence of Arabia.
