Review of Das Boot (1981) by Trevor B — 23 Sep 2009
One of the best war films as well as one of the best foreign films I've ever seen. Even after 3 1/2 hours I didn't want this movie to end. It's epic, emotional, harrowing and claustrophic all at the same time.
The acting is superb, especially from Jurgen Prochnow, the cinematography is top-notch, you actually feel like you are stuck in a submarine. The battle scens are so intense and suspenseful you are literally on the edge of your seat.
I can't say enough good things about this movie. A+.
