Review of Das Boot (1981) by Ernesto R — 24 Oct 2009
You won't even know that you have spent 5 hours of your time watching this movie. It is a very objective, nuanced and realistic look at what life would have been like in a U boat. The characters are complex and rich, not cartoon nazis, the action feel real and tense, and the grueling/boring life inside of a submarine somehow is conveyed without boring us.
This is the mother of all submarine movies!
