The movie is best watched with the original German and subtitle translation. If you want to know what it is like to be trapped in a crippled submarine with the entire opposing navy bearing down on you then watch the movie.
If you are claustrophobic then I would avoid the movie. It is that realistic. A great WWII film in a perspective that only a few other films have addressed. The characters are memorable and the struggle the crew encounters in almost insurmountable. I applaud this movie.
