Quite possibly the worst movie I have seen in the theaters (why did I waste my money to see this?). The film is a "horror" film (although it is not scary at all) about a house that is not at all what it appears to be.

A family moves into it and strange things begin to happen that makes star Anna Paquin believe that it's a temple with demons wanting to sacrifice her little brother. Wow. Its cheesy plot could have been saved if it was at least handled well (ie.

if there was actually SOME suspense or scares) but instead it is told through a series of cliches that we have seen in other films: A kid draws eerie pictures (Others, Darkness Falls, The Ring), The father begins to go insane (The Shining), Only light will protect the people from "the darkness" (Wow again.

Exact rip off of Darkness Falls), and the list goes on and on! Also the film takes so many "short cuts" that it hurts the believability of the film (as if the writers didn't know how to get a character from point A to point B so they just made something "convenient" happen to get them there).

The only redeeming factor in the film is at the end there are several events that prove interesting and a few plot turns (though most are very predictable) that add some level entertainment. Be the rest of the film is so painful it's not rewarding at all, and even the last scenes are handles in a very bland manner.

Incredibly disappointing.
