Darkest Hour is the type of biopic that most satisfies me, as it chooses to focus on a particular moment in time, rather than trying to fit a person's life story in under 2 hours. The film is exquisitely written and directed, and never ceases to be compelling.
Finally, it has been said many times but it has to be said again: Gary Oldman's performance is something to behold, an actor performing at a level very few can aspire to.
