Review of Darkest Hour (2017) by Ezra A — 05 Mar 2018
Just had the chance to watch this movie yesterday (partly because Gary Oldman's Oscar victory), and it was simply stunning. Other than Oldman's exceptional portrayal of Churchill, the storytelling is gripping, rich, and clever.
Two arches I found satisfactory are the one about Chamberlain's handkerchief, which was paid off as one of the last scenes of the movie, and about Winston and the Underground, which was paid off in one of the best scenes of the movie, which brought tears to my eyes.
Epic.
