Review of Darkest Hour (2017) by Aurelia G — 29 Jan 2018
"The darkest hour" reminds us the horror of the war, in this case the darkness of the first days, the beginning of the war. Nothing special about it, we all know or we all can imagine that it was not easy to take decisions, to live threatened by Hitler's troops, to live and see another generation of young people going to fight and die senselessly.
What makes this movie special is Gary Oldman impersonating Winston Churchill. Uncanny resemblance! The way he talks, behaves, the voice, the eyes, the sense of humour, it is like Churchill himself is present in the movie.
Gary Oldman makes "The darkest hour" a movie to remember and I hope that Oscar 2018 will be his year to receive accolades as "the best Actor".
