Review of Darkest Hour (2017) by Tom O — 26 Jan 2018
Whilst there may be one or two slightly self-indulgent moments, this film is a must-see. From the very opening shot into parliament, Joe Wright draws you in and keeps thunderous pace through arguably the most precarious political moment in world history, mixing humour, pathos and action with fluid ease.
Visually beautiful, some excellent (and Oscar-worthy) performances and, despite following historical events, holds you on the edge of your seat.
