Review of Darkest Hour (2017) by Jane M — 02 Jan 2018
This film focuses on a few weeks in 1939 when English leaders, then its citizens, had to come up with a new way to see their homeland: the country in Europe that would not cave in to Hitler. Winston Churchill used the English language as a weapon to steel his fellow citizens for war and Nazi invasion.
Gary Oldman and the rest of the cast are believable, and the sepia-tone cinematography works to depict these dark times.
