Wright did an exceptional job of conveying the story with beautiful shots with some nice geometrical balances . .. but that's it. He does everything a director should do to a T so it gets boring with the lack of creavitiy.
Oldman, well he did an exceptional job of disappearing into his role. Although it seemed like a one-man show throughout the film it illuminated my understanding of historical events as a whole.
