Review of Darkest Hour (2017) by Ryan C — 14 Dec 2017
The Darkest Hour is without a doubt one of the best films of the year. Truly a film to experience and seen to fully grasp the emotion of war. In comparison to war drama this is a film solely that focused on one of the world's most influential political figure, Winston Churchill. A man that is elected into office during one of the Darkest time in the English history. The film depicted the struggles of a man in power. Each and every decisions he had to make to change the course of history.
The story as a concept is brilliant, however it is Gary Oldman's performance as Churchill that captivates you throughout the entire movie. His stance, gaze, delivery and embodiment of Churchill makes you forget that it was a film in the first place. It is as though we were transported back in time to walk beside Churchill and experience the struggles with him. It is a truly amazing performance by Oldman and the surrounding cast.
