Review of Dark Victory (1939) by Allie R — 04 Apr 2008
For many reasons, some of which I know and some I don't know, this movie just captivated me. Maybe it was trying to gaze into Bette Davis' fluttering eyes in the beginning of the film or watching the last loving embrace at the climax, I just loved the story.
Bette Davis is stunningly beautiful throughout the film and grows up and finds that peace as her time ends. Great performances by the supporting cast, but I was, and still am, swept away with this one.
