Review of Dark Skies (2013) by Lucas C — 14 Jun 2013
Initially I knew nothing about this movie other than it was some sort of movie dealing with a haunting of sorts, I was at the end of it pleasantly surprised. Although the movie itself might not be one of the better movies in this category it had some interesting ideas and mixed two categories of horror movies.
And while interesting it could have been better without the all to popular cliches of horror movies these days. By this I mean home monitoring systems and the likes. What really ruined the movie for me though was when the couple met self titled expert who explained everything and because of this sucked out the whole suspense of the remainder of the movie.
It has a few good scares but the story. when it is not about the initial "haunting",tends to be overly dramatic for no good reason whatsoever which made for a very unbalanced viewing.
