Review of Dark Skies (2013) by Christina A — 05 Jul 2013
Average white people in an average white neighborhood struggle to maintain the status quo and their reputation as they experience extraterrestrial activity. Dark Skies fails because writer/director Scott Stewart's inability to build suspense with his direction, and can't manage to write anything other than predictable dialogue coming from cookie-cutter characters.
Someone needs to inform Scott Stewart that showing a character walking down a dark hallway is not inherently interesting or scary. There are very few redeeming moments in this film and I'm avoiding anything else this guy puts out in the future, and you would do best to avoid Dark Skies as well.
