Review of Dark Skies (2013) by Jonathan S — 04 Aug 2013

If you watch like a sheep, munching on potato chips and texting the whole way through, I'm sure this was a 3-star meh. But if you really care to be engaged and keep your mind open to the possibility that we aren't alone in the universe, this movie will scare the shit out of you. A lifelong horror buff, I have never been so affected by a movie that I was scared to close my eyes at night - did not sleep a wink after watching Dark Skies at home in the dark. Really edge of your seat stuff, this movie is a master of building suspense and then delivering with truly disturbing shock-scenes. The acting was A+.

Again, if you aren't able to empathize with characters you probably won't enjoy this movie, but if you keep an open mind and put yourself in their shoes, this movie will be a real treat.
