Finally watched this after encouragement from my mom. Wasn't too keen on the alien abduction story line. However I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable the movie actually was. Yes it it a total popcorn horror film that takes a lot of ideas from POLTERGEIST, but it is worth a rent.
It does well in building tension and providing the chills without getting too hokey. The ending, although totally borrowing yet again from POLTERGEIST, is very effective! Fun movie for a night at home.
