Review of Dark Skies (2013) by Darth V — 26 Dec 2014

Sure, it's been done before. What hasn't? And at t least we're spared the true horror of shaky-cam 'found footage.' I guess I'm old school, I like the kind of scary story that builds up slowly and sets your hair on end.

This one delivered. No blood, no guts, just good clean creepiness. The weak points came when the obligatory talking head - you know, the 'expert' who knows what's what - explains it all for the family (and by extension, us).

You could literally feel your feet landing flat on solid ground during that part of the movie. We achieved lift-off again for a few moments as the movie came to its conclusion, but really, it was the talking head that took away that fifth star.

Still, four stars isn't too shabby. Recommended.
