Review of Dark Skies (2013) by Swril O — 18 Jun 2015

I will say this: this movie does a pretty good job of setting up an atmosphere that is genuinely creepy. The premise is actually solid and thoroughly thought out. The actors do a pretty good job of conveying the emotions that we expect one would face if they were in such a situation. Some set-ups work towards the movie's favor, but a good lot of them don't go anywhere. And it does oblige itself to take some tired horror movie tropes and use them, poorly for the most part.

In short, I would recommend you at least give it a try. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. If you find something in it you enjoy, good for you. I certainly found some enjoyment in it.
