Review of Dark Shadows (2012) by K.t. N — 28 Jul 2013

I can't say I was disappointed by Dark Shadows because I came in with low expectations, with the hope of being pleasantly surprised. When you are checking the time remaining and there is less than 20 minutes left and you are still unsure of what the plot is... well that's a bad sign people. It was a very visually appealing movie and I enjoyed what I was looking at most of the time. I can't even say the funny parts were funny and feel like I'm giving an honest review. The film just never had a direction and none of the characters were interesting or likable. I wasn't bored by it but I was far from invested in it.

Basically, it was another Johnny Depp, Tim Burton vehicle that didn't work. Tim Burton makes very fun films to look at and Johnny Depp is a great actor but it hasn't worked for me yet. They will keep trying I assume and I will keep watching.
