Review of Dark Shadows (2012) by Aditya M — 18 Sep 2013
The dark message of the beautiful Collins is, that we are unconsciously breeding cockroaches, because they eat plastic, and we will barbeque, pet and use them as any help, if we have a certain mindset. Barnabas needs to bite a person, to get the silly idea, 'we are bound in blood'. His doctor takes his blood to transfuse herself with it, to be 'forever young'. I couldn't bear to see the rest, even when Depp looks like a snow white Dracula. Depp looks like driven white snow, but it is pretty unusual, the movie.
The term 'dark shadows' is in regard for Alice Cooper. Dr. Hoffman is absolutely great as the doctor. It seems, there is a saying, that a cockroach that thinks of the bee, becomes a bee, but the young girl who thinks of Barnabas, becomes a really anemic weak werewolf! How her brother remains a young human is the question. What is unfortunate is, that the doctor experiments on herself, when she is convinced that the blood of Barnabas in copious quarts will give everlasting life, but she didn't want to think similarly of Alice Cooper! It also seems, that the blood of the vampire boiled, not in the transfusion bottle, but in the vampire.
