Those who belittle this movie just don't get it. It was a hoot, Pfieffer's send up of Elizabeth Stoddard shows she was a true "Mike Shadows" fan in the 60's. The cast plays it straight without mugging or sniggering.
One of the few Johnny Dep performances I've really liked. The Cameo with Jonathan Frid and the Original Elizabeth, David the Werewolf and Angelique as Ball Guests was a treat. Great sets, evocative of the Soap, bitching tunes and groovy cars too.
