Review of Dark Shadows (2012) by Ben T — 16 Aug 2014

Dark shadows is a very dissapointing movie with decent acting, terrible lighting, strange humor, mediocre direction and a poor tone. My biggest problem with the film. Was the tone, it was all over the place.

For example in one scene we have johnny depp reawakening after an amount year I can't remember and killing the construction workers, this is quite a gory scene however this scene is followed by Johnny depp calling a McDonald sign satan which is played for comedy.

The acting is good, none of the cast are bad, but some are more memorable than others. Overall this is a dull, fairly boring movie with a terrible tone and pacing. I'd like to say I think Tim Burton will return to form but after this movie and Alice in Wonderland I think that is very unlikely.
