Review of Dark Shadows (2012) by Kim C — 15 Sep 2014

If you want to see Johnny Depp in his best, this is the film to see. This really defines the word dark, but the problem is why I gave it a 3 star is because of the comedy, it kills the darkness of the movie. Not just that this movie has so much swearing in it, how the hell does this movie gets a 12A in the UK! enough of me complaining lets get back to business, the movie is very, very well written from the start you get too see how Collingwood was manufactured how they built this town in their name.

At first Johnny Depp character Barnabas Collins had a relationship with his maid , Angelique Bouchard they didn't have a love affair but he loved her for her body. But not knowing the factor that she was a witch that killed his parents in the beginning of the film, this also made Barnabas Collins go crazy into the dark magic he believed that his parents death was not a accident. After we see Barnabas falls in love a Victoria but Angelique, the maid gets jealous and curses Victoria to jump off the cliffs off the highest points of Collingwood, ocean point of the sea while Barnabas runs after her to save her till she reaches her destination Victoria turns round and says "Help me".

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" says Barnabas loses his love and mind and jumps the cliffs as well, as he hits the concrete ground he realizes he hasn't died and hold his love for one last time, but at that moment he sees his maid Angelique and realizes she was the witch, and she curses him to a hideous vampire and he starts to kill people in his village to gain blood in order to live.

Angelique scheme was set, and she wanted to destroy the Collingwood name and it's towns trust in them. The villagers then realize that Barnabas was a vampire and decide to capture him and lock him up forever. This film blows your mind in all the creepy creatures that we were born with, but the factor is that the only person that carry's this movie is Johnny Depp character if you have always been a pirates of the carribean fan of captain Jack Sparrow then you know what Johnny Depp he can do.

What I would say the characters do well, but there not memorable than Johnny Depp Character acting was ace on everyone, but this is a one of those movies to watch once and that's it.
