Review of Dark Shadows (2012) by Amanda L — 13 Jan 2015
Sort of on the good end of the middle, Tim Burton's movie adaptation of a weird cult classic soap opera from the late 60s/early 70s has some funny moments, a good cast, but unfortunately a kind of unfocused script.
There is a lot going on, which works in an episodic soap, but sort of feels like a mess translated to a singular film. Depp, as usual, gives a strong performance. The rest of the cast is good too, but don't really have a lot to do.
I liked this movie, I laughed enough...but it is not without it's problems.
