I have to disagree with all the critics. Not my type of movie, but way better than Gone Girl in my opinion. If you like dark, suspense mystery. This is not a bad choice. The actors all perform well. I am very critical of directors and this one didn't make his presence obvious.
Which means he didn't insert his own flair. He let the characters tell the story. Which is a talent in its own.
