Review of Dark Places (2015) by Tim R — 31 Jul 2015
I wanted to like this. I really did. But it was impossible. The acting and dialogue was bad, and not due to the actors abilities, but the script/story. I think the reason I found it so bad was due to knowing the writer truly wanted this to be a clever story with twists and turns with powerful and meaningful emotion and simply missed the mark - horribly. It fails to do this. At times it seemed as if pieces of a broken script and story were added to simply make an almost two hour long movie. It's a shame since I like most of the actors.
Lastly, I would be wrong not to mention Chloe Grace Moretz, who once again provides a horrible acting job. I get it....she pouts her lips.
I will give credit for making me honestly not care about anyone in this movie - the same way the actors didn't.
Sorry if this review seems too negative, I was just so disappointed in the end result that I had to write it.
