Very disappointed at the way this movie turned out. I absolutely loved the book and still stand by it as one of the best thrillers of the last decade. But, this movie was rushed together so quickly that it was messy before the murder even took place.
Theron is too beautiful for her own good in this role, and while the movie tried to fill in many of the details of the book, it came up short every time. The only real shining light in this movie was Hendricks, and only because she was believable as a caring mother.
Narration was spotty, and jumbled together without the fluidity and purpose that the book gave. Please read the book instead!
