Dark Phoenix is potentially the worst in the X-Men series (save for X-Men Origins: Wolverine). The films plot seems to be a mash-up of X-Men: The Last Stand and an unused plot by series creator Bryan Singer.
Unfortunately there is no originality or joy left in the franchise. Though Jean does have a strong character arc, no one else does. We again have a film full of grunt men who do nothing but die off, in the most laughable fight scenes in the series.
