Review of Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981) by Steve W — 26 Oct 2015
It constantly has the words "Made for Television" all over the DVD cover, but this horror film has better acting and cinematography than most movies. Lane Smith and Charles Durning are very believeable as hicks, who decide to go vigilante on a simpleton after a little girl is attacked by a dog and he is blamed for it.
Featuring impeccable camera work, atmospheric "accident" scenes, and lots of cool build up, Dark Night of the Scarecrow is one of the most effective supernatural chillers.
