Review of Dark Horse (2012) by Frances H — 23 Mar 2013
Completely depressing story of a self-absorbed loser, Abe, living with his parents who enable his moocher lifestyle. He meets a romantic interest who appears to be suffering acute depression, and everything about their relationship screams that Abe is somewhat schizophrenic, with his visions increasingly intruding and overtaking reality.
When his father finally tries some tough love, Abe's simmering rage explodes, with an ending that is weirdly predictable, yet devoid of any satisfying glimmers that make it worth seeing (despite the considerable acting talents involved, such as Mia Farrow and Christopher Walken as the parents).
