Review of Dark Days (2012) by Chris W — 01 Sep 2007
Filmed by a guy who befriended some homeless people he met who were living in the tunnels near Penn Station. He made the film ~with~ them (the plan was to use the proceeds from the film as their ticket out of the tunnels).
The homeless helped with sound and lighting, and other tasks, including the construction of a dolly for the camera. It was filmed in black and white and the soundtrack is by DJ Shadow. Amazingly unpretentious and very real (no heavy-handed commentary to be found here).
