Review of Dark Days (2000) by Gary C — 14 Aug 2007
Important documentary about the face and facts of homelessness. Singer gains entry into the lives and handmade patchwork hovels of a longstanding community of homeless men and women living in the sprawling furcated tunnels of NYC?s subway system, who share their stories, daily struggles, and sense---however mislaid---of permanence, which is about to be threatened by Amtrak officials.
A square look into the eyes and hearts of a sect of humanity far too often marginalized. Soundtrack by DJ Shadow.
