Review of Dark City (1998) by Robin W — 05 May 2013
The neo-noir science fiction film Dark City is intensely thrilling right from the start. John Murdoch wakes up in a hotel suffering from complete amnesia. Soon he learns that a group of supernatural men is out to kill him and that he´s the main suspect in the murder of several prostitutes, but while investigating his own past he becomes aware of an unbelievable and huge conspiracy.
Alex Proyas has once again created a incredible and dark visual experience similar to "The Crow", and with a very original plot. The viewer is gradually presented with clues in a tempo that really keeps you enthralled and waiting for the next piece of the puzzle, although this movie has some slight overuse of poorly animated special effects it is still one of the greatest dystopian science fiction pictures to date.
