Review of Dark City (1998) by Chris T — 03 May 2012
Somehow this movie has gotten better with age for me. Yes, it can seem a lot like a comic book at moments, and there are parts where the dialogue feels forced, but the overall atmosphere and feel make this a movie that i've bought a total of 3 times (VHS, DVD, BD) and not regretted it.
The story unravels at a rather brisk pace, with enough reveals to keep you interested and never an unnecessary action twist that is often thrown into sci-fi. This is brainy, noir sci-fi in the style of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner.
