Review of Dark City (1950) by Steve G — 14 Mar 2010
Dark City (Directors Cut) is a great diversional film in the sci-fi genre.
I'd say it is more than a sci-fi it also belongs in the Horror genre.
Great original story line, great scenes, works on Blu Ray very well and the Directors Cut adds the scenes that should have never been cut out in the released version.
Aliens using man as lab rats, with little to no hope of man's escape. Many questions are raised by the viewer during the film and many are answered leaving a few to the imagination.
Scary, dark (literally)and creepy are the things going on here and frankly, I think this movie is better than the Matrix series, which would be it's genre 'competition' if you will.
A bit of the 50's style gumshoe stuff in here as well making this a cult classic movie.
