This came out a year before the Matrix. You'll understand the relevance when you watch the movie. Futuristic film noir. Its the atmosphere created more than anything else that makes this movie shine as dark as it is.
For me atmosphere more than anything else can make a movie special and thats all down to the director. A stand out original that the matrix has a lot to thank for. Warning: It is dark..... deliciously dark though.
