Review of Daredevil (2003) by Erik B — 13 Dec 2011
This is an ok film, but the reason it gets 3 stars isn't because its 3 star worthy. I give it alot of credit for pushing superhero movies in the direction they needed to go, darker and more adult themed.
I do have plenty of problems with the movie, namely Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Colin Farrell is surprisingly good as Bulls-eye, and Michael Clarke Duncan is good as always, even though he's miscast.
Some extremely cheesy scenes and moments (see the playground fight scene, and the Affleck/Garner sex scene) which are just flat out ridiculously stupid, but they are at least sort of balanced out by some good action sequences and soundtrack. A little too stylized and Hollywood to be a good superhero movie, but it is none the less entertaining.
